Visit native land and see bears in an untouched landscape with exclusive access to Karluk Lake. Plus enjoy FAT BEAR WEEK when the bears are preparing for hibernation and gorging on salmon.


INCLUDED : Enjoy all-inclusive food, drinks, lodging, kayaking, tours and photographic experiences. Daily trips to 4 locations through Karluk Lake to see Kodiak brown bears in their native habitat. 


Even in one of the most secluded corners of the world, our guests enjoy the convenience of home-like comforts. Each cabin boasts a private deck with scenic views of Karluk Lake. Equipped with electricity, full bathroom facilities, wireless internet access, and cozy beds adorned with fresh linens, our cabins provide a welcoming retreat. 


A brief stroll leads to our dining cabin, where our skilled and amiable staff prepares delightful meals for a truly satisfying experience.


Our Kodiak Island workshop is open to hobby and professional photographers.


Come and create stunning visual imagery and work alongside Dan and Jessica as they show you the beauty of Kodiak Island. From Wildlife photography, landscape and editorial photography, you will have an opportunity to try your hand at capturing images from a large array of wild subjects.


World class bear viewing, unlimited adventure all combined into a premium photography workshop.

Renowned photographer and author Dan M Lee makes workshops in Alaska and beyond for hobbyist photographers in the wilderness and unique locations. All workshops are based on either wildlife or activities set in off-the-grid places. Dan is joined by world class photo guides who are experts in their fields of wildlife, photo journalism and outdoor photography. Kodiak Photo Workshops have been running since 2014.
